It's important to note that birds should not be given exclusively smooth dowel perches. Optimal foot health requires a variety of perch sizes and textures to encourage proper foot exercise and reduce the risk of foot-related issues. We recommend providing a range of perches, including natural wood branches, natural (not cotton!) rope perches, and other textured options, to ensure your parrot's feet receive the necessary stimulation and support.
